Well Inventory Search Help
General tips for entering search criteria:
- Some criteria fields allow more than one value to be
selected from a list. In these fields, the list appears
with a scrollbar allowing you to scroll through all of
the items in the list. To select more than one item in
the list, hold the CTRL key down while clicking on your
selections.
- Use the "Submit" button to perform your query.
The criteria you have entered will be used to select the
results of the query, which will then be displayed on a
new page after the query has completed.
- Use the "Reset" button to clear any criteria
you have entered.
The following criteria are available for searching the
well inventory:
- WI Unique Well #:
Between zero and five WI Unique Well Numbers may be
entered to restrict the wells retrieved. Each valid well
number uniquely identifies a single well.
- County: Zero or more counties may be
selected to restrict the wells selected to particular
counties in Wisconsin.
- Survey Township,
Survey Range, Survey Range Direction,
Survey Section:
You may specify Public Land Survey System location
information to zero in on the location of the wells.
Multiple selections of townships, ranges, or sections can
be made. However, it is recommended that multiple
selection only be done at the finest level of detail
being specified, otherwise the query will not really make
sense. So, if township, range, and section are all being
specified in your criteria, multiple selection should
only be done at the section level.
- Well Address:
You may specify all or part of a well's street address.
The query will look for any Well Address containing
the text you type. The matching is not case-sensitive.
For instance, entering "main" will match a well
with a street address of "103 S. MAIN ST".
- FID: If you
know the facility identifier of a well, it may be entered
as criteria.
- Well Use: Zero or more types of well use
may be specified as criteria. Follow these links to get
the definitions of the various types of well use that
exist: Municipal
Community, OTM

- Well Status: The current status of a
well may be specified as criteria. You may often want to
query on Active wells, for instance.
